There is an old axiom that, in a business, “ if it is not growing, it is on the road to failing.” This, of course, refers to sales/revenues. In the church the product for sale is the Love of God, Love of Jesus, Love for Others and not ourselves, Love of the Path that leads to Salvation. Yes, and people have to actually buy into the purchase. The cost of this purchase is the loss of one’s (worldly) life, so that the result will be eternal life in the Kingdom. Unlike a business, which can offer a “Lifetime Guaranty,” the Guaranty offered is for Eternity.
